COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Precautionary Measures

The health and safety of our patients and staff is a top priority at Port Moody Health and we would like to provide you with the following information on how we are managing this current situation. We are taking these steps to reduce the risk to keep you, our patients, and staff safe!

A. Phone Screening for COVID-19 Procedure

✓ All patient appointments have been changed to a secure telehealth visit unless an in-clinic visit is required.
✓ All patients calling in to schedule, pick up supplements or checking-in for an appointment are screened for symptoms: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19.html
✓ All patients (NEW and RETURN) are called 3 days prior to their appointment to screen for symptoms.
✓ Additionally, all patients (NEW and RETURN) are called 1 day prior to their appointment to ensure symptoms have not changed.

B. In Clinic Screening for COVID-19 Procedure

✓ All patients (NEW and RETURN) when entering the clinic will be provided a face mask if they do not have their own. (We do encourage patients to bring their own face mask due to supply shortages).
✓ All patients (NEW and RETURN) will have their temperature taken in the waiting room by the nurse (or managers when necessary) prior to being escorted to the IV Suite.
❖ Patients who exhibit any concerning signs will be directed appropriately and given instructions to be managed off-site.

C. Patients Receiving IV therapy

✓ No patient visitors are permitted in the IV suite
✓ The IV suite has been limited to accommodate a maximum capacity of 6 patients at any given time, in order to maintain a minimum 6-foot perimeter between patients
✓ All patients receiving IV therapy will be triaged by their primary Naturopathic Physician (either Dr. Gurm or Dr. Adrian)
✓ Patients who are immune-compromised or undergoing immune-suppressive therapies (chemotherapy, radiation, targeted cancer therapies) will be placed in private rooms

D. Clinic Cleaning Schedule

➢ The following surfaces are cleaned after every use:
✓ Waiting/patient room chairs
✓ Credit/Debit card machines
✓ Hot and cold-water dispenser handles

➢ The following surfaces are cleaned at a minimum of every 1-2 hours:
