Happy holidays from your team at Port Moody Health

By Kimberly Duffels BSc.

When was the last time you had an intravenous (IV) drip? Was it because you needed antibiotics? Perhaps some other emergency at the hospital? At Port Moody Health, we want to change the way you see IVs – to help you see them as preventative & restorative therapy, not just a treatment required in emergency situations. At Port Moody Health, we customize IVs – consisting of vitamins, minerals, botanicals and homeopathics – as a healing and supportive therapy for a variety of ailments and situations, including: enhancing athletic performance, restoring nutrition needs in those with digestive issues, improving vitality in chronic fatigue, addressing hormonal imbalances (such as hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue), reversing cardiovascular disease and aging, and restoring neurotransmitter balance in those with depression and/or anxiety. IV therapy is also an important part of our integrative cancer treatment.

What You Can Expect

At PMH, we go the extra mile to make you feel at home and aid in your healing process. We believe a positive, compassionate and comfortable environment is an important element of healing. You’ll find comfortable recliner chairs, fresh tea or purified water, blankets, pillows, relaxing music, magazines, informational literature and plenty of smiles. Have a special need? Just ask! We can almost always find a solution for you.Want to bring your laptop? We’ve got Wi-fi to help you make the most of your time!
IVs are administered by our highly trained clinicians under the supervision of our physicians. You can expect treatment to take approximately 45 minutes to an hour to drip.

How To Prepare

Be sure to be well hydrated and eat a small meal within the hour prior to your scheduled IV treatment. Other than that, just bring your wonderful self and we will ensure you have a positive experience!
In the colder seasons, we suggest you dress in warm, comfortable clothes and wear gloves, in addition to being well hydrated – these factors will make venous access easier. We also recommend bringing a snack, but if you forget, we do have Vega bars for purchase.
