A recent analysis of two cohort studies involving women with stage I-III breast cancer found that a plant-rich, low-carbohydrate diet was associated with improved overall survival but not breast cancer-specific survival.

Adhering to low-carb and plant-rich diets was linked to a significantly lower risk of all-cause mortality, while animal-rich, low-carb diets did not impact survival rates.

The study suggests that breast cancer survivors may benefit from reducing carbohydrate intake, particularly from sugary sources, and increasing protein and fat consumption, primarily from plant-based sources.
