THYMUS PEPTIDES IMMUNE THERAPY

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE THYMUS?

The thymus is a gland located in the upper chest, behind the sternum. In early childhood, it begins to produce special substances responsible for the development of the immune system, which in turn fulfills a vital life-preserving function. Without the thymus gland, we would have no means of an effective immunological defense. It serves a very important purpose in regulating the immune system, stimulating an immune response and delays the aging process.

The immune system is a complex and highly organized system consisting of different types of immune cells responsible for destroying foreign pathogens (viruses, bacteria, etc.) and abnormal (pre-cancerous or cancerous) cells. A strong, healthy immune system will help prevent cancer and other illnesses. However, if the immune system cannot cope with the cancer or infection, disease ensues.

WHAT CAUSES IMMUNE DEFICIENCIES?

There are often multiple assaults on the immune system before it fails to control cancer or other disease processes. These have a depressant effect on the immune system and can be a consequence of one or more of the following factors:

  • Premature aging or the aging process itself
  • Chronic, unresolved inflammatory processes anywhere in the body (i.e. emphysema or diabetes)
  • Prolonged courses of treatment with antibiotics or highly toxic treatments such chemotherapy and radiation
  • The presence of autoimmune disease such as rheumatic diseases, lupus and others
  • Exposure to environmental toxins from food, water, air, certain occupations and textiles
  • Mental distress and prolonged physical stress also dampens the immune response

WHAT ARE INDICATIONS OF A WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM?

Blood work and sophisticated testing can diagnosis most immunological disorders, but not always. There are usually some signs and symptoms that the immune system is in a chronically dysregulated or weakened state, such as:

  • Being diagnosed with cancer
  • Rapid fatigue and lack of stamina
  • Susceptibility to repeated infection and prolonged duration of illness
  • Poor wound healing
  • Poor tolerance to stress and prolonged recovery from stressful situations

WHAT IS THYMUS PEPTIDE TREATMENT?

Thymus peptide treatment is aimed at strengthening the immune system and thus enhancing the defence reactions of the body. At Port Moody Health, we use a potent concentration of thymus peptides from Germany. It is produced without any additives or preservatives, under sterile conditions in state-of-the-art pharmaceutical laboratories in Europe, following the highest standards of pre- and post-production manufacturing and processing to ensure the maximum potency.

WHAT DOES THYMUS PEPTIDES TREATMENT INVOLVE?

Thymus peptides are in a sterile liquid form and administered via injection into the gluteal muscle with little to no discomfort. The “classic” course of treatment consists of 15-20 injections over a 3-4 week period. However, frequency of injections can vary depending on the type of disease being treated. In cancer care for instance, patients often receive injections 2x/wk for 2-3 months.

WHICH DISEASES RESPOND TO TREATMENT WITH THYMUS EXTRACT?

  • Lowered resistance or susceptibility to infections
  • Degenerative conditions of the spine and joints
  • Metabolic disturbances such as diabetes
  • Disease of the heart and circulatory system
  • Chronic inflammatory diseases of the skin (eczema, psoriasis, etc.), respiratory tract (allergies, asthma, bronchiectasis, emphysema, etc.), liver, gallbladder, kidneys or prostate gland
  • As a complementary treatment for cancer (pre- and post-operative, alongside radiation and chemotherapy, post-treatment to prevent recurrence)
  • Prophylactic measure against “malignant cell degeneration” in pre-cancerous conditions or those who are at high risk of malignancy

HOW LONG BEFORE THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF TREATMENTS ARE NOTICED?

The treatment with Thymus Peptides has a foundational effect on the immune system that may take time to be perceived or felt by the patient. However, most individuals begin to experience an improvement of their general condition after 2-3 weeks of treatment. Most importantly, Thymus peptides treatment has a sustainable impact on the immune function, persisting long after the course of treatment has concluded. The effects are typically demonstrated by lower incidence of disease and illness, better disease management and shorter recovery periods.

Depending on the condition, treatment with Thymus Peptides is most effective when combined with other standard and/or complementary therapies – for example, with Hyperthermia when treating cancer – to achieve the best outcomes.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS THYMUS PEPTIDES THERAPY & CANCER?

Recently, a meta-analysis of 26 clinical trials with a total of 2,736 adult cancer patients, (published in 2015 by the Cochrane Reviews) found overall thymic peptides were well tolerated and reduced the likelihood of severe infection and drop in white blood cell count in those receiving thymic peptides while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Furthermore, patients receiving thymic peptides improved disease-free and overall survival. The review underscores the importance of integrating Thymic Peptides therapy as a complementary treatment to improve outcomes in parallel with standard cancer therapies, rather than using Thymic Peptides therapy as a stand-alone treatment.
