HOW DOES COLON HYDROTHERAPY WORK?
Colon hydrotherapy gently cleanses the colon of hardened fecal waste and toxins, helps to re-establish a healthy gut ecology and significantly enhances liver detoxification. It is unique in its ability to restore the shape and muscle tone of the bowel to allow for regular and normal bowel movements. These attributes make colon hydrotherapy an invaluable part of health maintenance and disease prevention and an important ally for sustained youthful vigor and vitality.
IS COLON HYDROTHERAPY SAFE?
Colon hydrotherapy treatment is completely safe. The hydrotherapy equipment has passed FDA requirements and received CSA and CE medical standard approvals. The clinical equipment includes three-stage ultra sterilization. To prevent patient to patient contamination, a disposable water line, waste line and speculum are used for each treatment. The water supply system incorporates three-stage filtering and ultraviolet sterilization to filter out chemicals and contaminants. The water pressure and temperature are controlled at all times for complete patient comfort and safety.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A TREATMENT?
Warm filtered water is gently introduced – via a speculum – into the rectum and into the colon where it soaks away and cleanses the unwanted material. The water stimulates peristalsis, causing the colon to push the water and matter out through the tube. You experience the peristalsis as a strong urge to go to the toilet. You do not have to push and you do not need to hold on, relax and the body will do the work for you.
WHAT IS AN “AUTONOMIC DISCHARGE”?
The gut has a vast supply of nerves, lymphatic, venous and arterial vessels. In fact, many conditions of the gut such as “IBS” or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, are actually caused by a dysfunction of the nervous system that supplies conduction to the gut. These systems are highly interconnected. During a colonic session, the autonomic nervous system may adjust in an attempt to re-establish homeostasis. As a result, you may experience an “autonomic discharge” that consists of symptoms such as tremors, emotional responses, hot/cold flushes, dizziness and tingling in the extremities. This often happens with large toxic releases and pressure releases. This is also known as a “healing crisis” and the end result is a dramatic progression of healing for the individual.
